Who is responsible

The Joint European Disruptive Initiative (JEDI), whose details are given above, is responsible for the personal data described here. For any questions about your data, write to gdpr@jedi.foundation.

What we collect and where it comes from

We collect professional information about the people we work with or may invite to our activities: name, organisation, position and professional contact details, and a record of our exchanges, such as the events you registered for. If you make a donation, we keep the information needed to process it and for our accounts. We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health or political opinions.

This information comes from you, when you contact us, register for an event or make a donation, or from publicly available professional sources and professional directories.

What we do with it

Running our website

What we use: technical data and the cookies described below.

Why: to keep the site working (our legitimate interest) and to measure visits (with your consent, where the law requires it).

How long: as set by our website host.

Answering your messages

What we use: your name, contact details and message.

Why: to answer you (our legitimate interest).

How long: up to 3 years after our last exchange.

Workshops and registrations, in person or online

What we use: your name, organisation, position, contact details and your answers to the registration form.

Why: to organise the Workshops you registered for (your request).

How long: up to 3 years after our last exchange.

News and invitations

What we use: your name, organisation, position and professional email.

Why: to tell people in our professional network about our work and events (our legitimate interest). You can unsubscribe at any time.

How long: up to 3 years after our last exchange. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address, so that we do not write to you again unless you ask for it.

Donations

What we use: your name, email, and the amount and date of your donation.

Why: to process the donation and keep our accounts (our legal obligations).

How long: 10 years, as the law requires.

Fields marked as required in our forms are needed to register you; without them, we cannot. We make no automated decisions about you.

Photos and videos at our events

We sometimes photograph or film our events, and publish some of these images on our website, our social media accounts and in the press, to show our work. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest, and say so at the event. If you would rather not appear, tell our team on the day or write to gdpr@jedi.foundation, and we will not publish images in which you can be recognised, or will remove them.

Who sees it

Only the JEDI team, and event venues when they need the guest list for access. We use trusted service providers (website hosting, email, forms, database, video calls, payments), bound by data protection agreements. Some of them are based outside the European Union; these transfers are protected by a European Commission adequacy decision or by standard contractual clauses, a copy of which you can ask us for. We never sell or rent your data.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to its use, including our emails at any time, and to receive the data you gave us. You can also tell us what should happen to your data after your death. Write to gdpr@jedi.foundation; we answer within one month. If we have a reasonable doubt about your identity, we may ask you to confirm it. Every email we send also has an unsubscribe link.

If you think your rights have not been respected, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
